Our Responsibilities
The Office of Academic Services houses Copper Mountain College’s instructional operations and plays a central role in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of the college’s educational programs. The office is responsible for a broad scope of functions, including catalog and schedule development, faculty staffing and other instructional assignments, and strategic enrollment management. It oversees community education and ensures compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards. Additional responsibilities include instructional planning and assessment, managing communications related to academic operations, and facilitating training and professional development for instructional personnel.
Under the leadership of the Vice President of Academic Services, the office develops district policies and procedures related to academic programs and services. It oversees the implementation of these policies, including the selection and evaluation of faculty and staff. The office provides leadership in the continuous improvement of teaching and learning, supports active participation in shared governance, and fosters a collaborative decision-making process. Instructional deans and directors contribute to these efforts by providing leadership within their respective areas of expertise, operating under the guidance of the Vice President.
