We’re honored to support your educational mission. Find out how to use your benefits at CMC.
By enlisting in the armed forces and serving your country, you may have earned benefits that can help you achieve your educational goals. CMC is here to help you understand and apply those benefits.
Tuition and Fees
Through the California Promise Grant, you may qualify to have your enrollment fees waived. We encourage all veterans, active duty, and their dependents to apply by completing the FAFSA or California Dream Act Application (CADAA).
Enrollment Fee Waiver
Through the California Promise Grant, you can have your enrollment fees waived. You must be a California resident and meet a few other requirements. We encourage all veterans and members of the National Guard to apply.
First step, file your FAFSA or California Dream Act Application (CADAA). Afterward, fill out the Grant Application and submit it to CMC.
If you are an active-duty member stationed in California you qualify for in-state tuition rates. This extends to your dependents if they live in California. The current in-state tuition and fees are:
- California Resident: $46/unit
- Car: $20/semester
- Motorcycle: $10/semester
- Summer session: $5/all vehicles
- Student Government & Clubs: $5/semester
Additional CMC Benefits
CMC offers special benefits if you’re a service member or veteran.
If you’re on active-duty or a veteran you qualify for priority registration. To receive priority registration, you need to provide your military status to the Military Base Office or Admissions and Records.
Your priority registrations will be lost if:
- You’re placed on academic or progress probation
- You earned 75 units toward your degree in the district or other college/university
The 100-unit limit doesn’t include non-degree ESL or basic skills units, units that were earned through credit examination, advanced placement, or International Baccalaureate.
RN Advanced Placement
If you were honorably discharged and have held a Military Health Care Occupation, you may qualify for advanced placement into the RN Program at CMC.
For more information, please see the Health Sciences program page to see if you qualify.
Bud & Betty’s Place for Veterans
If you’re a student veteran or are an active-duty service member, then you should absolutely check out Bud & Betty’s Place for Veterans. You’ll meet, chat, and support others like yourself. It’s located next to the Student Activity Center in 300 Quad. We hope to see you there!
