CMC Foundation Spring Dinner Launches 25th Anniversary Celebration

Joshua Tree, CA — Join the Copper Mountain College Foundation for an unforgettable evening of brilliance and inspiration at “Shining Through: Reflections of Success”—a Spring Dinner Celebration honoring the legacy, growth, and future of Copper Mountain College. The event takes place on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Bell Center, and marks the beginning of CMC’s 25th Anniversary year.

This year’s celebration reflects on the powerful impact of education throughout the Morongo Basin and beyond—honoring the lives transformed by Copper Mountain College and looking ahead with pride and purpose.

Guests will enjoy live music by the Smokey Quartz Quartet, specialty cocktails crafted by Juni’s Gin, fabulous dinner and the warm hospitality of emcee and event chair Diane Durden, Copper Mountain College Foundation Board Member and proud CMC alumna, Class of 2017. The evening also shines a light on the achievements of featured alumnae Krystal Avila (Class of 2006) and Gloria Vasquez (Class of 2015), whose stories embody the spirit of perseverance and community that defines CMC.

“Copper Mountain College has always been about people—students, faculty, staff, and community members who believe in lifting each other up,” said Sandy Smith, Executive Director of the Copper Mountain College Foundation. “This college is a reflection of the Morongo Basin’s heart and grit, and this dinner is our chance to celebrate the lives we’ve changed together. We hope everyone who’s ever been part of our journey joins us—because this milestone belongs to all of us.”

Copper Mountain College Foundation’s Annual Festival of Wreaths

Started in 2010, Copper Mountain College Foundation’s Festival of Wreaths has exploded into the holiday kickoff event of the Morongo Basin. The Bell Center transforms into a winter wonderland the Sunday before Thanksgiving, November 23, 2025. Local businesses, service clubs and individuals create magnificent one of a kind wreaths, centerpieces, and trees all for sale to benefit the students of Copper Mountain College.

For the price of a ticket, $10 at the door or online, guests immerse themselves in the holiday spirit. Holiday music plays, plates are passed, friends visit and then the live auction kicks in with fantastical wreaths, centerpieces, and ornaments to be auctioned off to raise money for CMC students.  The wreaths are not only gorgeous but also full of gift cards and certificates, jewelry, electronics, hotel stays, even cash!  Also included in the activities is a silent auction, a raffle wreath, dessert auction and holiday card sale with seasonal artwork created by our college students. Doors open at 2 pm to view the unique creations with bidding beginning at 3 pm. There is a cash bar, small bites and desserts.

Check out the CMC Foundation wreath blog to view past events as well as keep up with the 2026 creations.
