Super Bloom: A CMC Student Showcase, hosts Closing Artist Reception May 13

Super Bloom: A CMC Student Showcase, opened Saturday, May 6 at Taylor Junction gallery in downtown Joshua Tree, with a superb exhibition of nearly 100 works of art from students at the Copper Mountain College Art Department, along with a range of presentations, from HOWL literary magazine readings, to inspiring talks from CMC faculty and students.  The show’s opening reception concluded with a performance by Wonder Valley’s very own “Stage Fright” band, in true Joshua Tree style.  Refreshments, including house-made donuts, were prepared by students and faculty from CMC’s Culinary Arts program.

The closing reception for Super Bloom takes place at Taylor Junction on Saturday, May 13, 2023, from 5 to 7 p.m., and includes a live painting demonstration by Professor Chloe Allred, and a live marbling paper/textiles demo by Professor Heather Jones.  This will be the last opportunity to view the massive student art exhibition and purchase works of art that are for sale.  It is also an excellent opportunity to learn more about the art offerings at Copper Mountain College and meet professors from the Art Department.
