The Water Technology Program at Copper Mountain College prepares students for essential careers that keep our desert communities functioning, resilient, and sustainable. Rooted in the unique water challenges of the Morongo Basin, the program blends technical training with real‑world problem‑solving, giving students the skills needed to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot modern water systems. Whether students are new to the field or already working in the industry, the curriculum is designed to build confidence and competence in every aspect of water operations.

CMC’s Water Technology Program is built in partnership with local water agencies, ensuring that coursework reflects current industry standards and the evolving needs of the region. Graduates leave with practical skills, professional readiness, and a deep understanding of the vital role water professionals play in sustaining life in the high desert.

CMC has six credit and six noncredit courses in Water Technology designed to prepare students for the Wastewater Operator Certification Program (WWOCP) state examinations. Successful certification can lead to employment opportunities for new workers or potential wage increases for incumbent workers.
