CMC Driver Education FAQ

• How Do I Get Started?

  To begin: Register for the program. The program will cost $30.

  For students: Visit the sign-in screen to complete your online training.
• What if I Lost My Certificate?

  If you have lost your certificate after completion of the online training, visit this page for a duplicate copy. It will cost you $20 to replace it.
• How Do I Get Hours Behind the Wheel?

  After finishing online training, you’ll take your certificate to the DMV and complete a written test.

  After you’ve passed your written test, you can get your permit at the DMV and start working on the 6 hours of training with a professional driving school.

  You will also do an additional 50 hours of driving with an adult 25 years of age or older who possesses a valid California Driver’s License. 10 of those driving hours must be completed at night.
• Getting Your License

  After you’ve completed all your driving hours, you’ll be ready to apply for a DMV driver’s license so long as you qualify.

  To qualify you must:

  • Be at least 16 years of age
  • Have a permit for at least 6 months
