Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement
What is MESA?
The California Community College Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) Program helps underserved and underrepresented students majoring in calculus-based Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields who seek to transfer to a four-year institution. The aim of MESA is to diversify the STEM workforce by providing the advising, resources, and community students need to complete their degrees in science, engineering, and mathematics.

Requirements
To qualify for MESA, a student:
- must have declared a qualifying STEM major. At Copper Mountain College, those majors are biology, chemistry, computer science, environmental science, math, and physics.
- must intend to transfer to a four-year college or university.
- may not have previously earned a bachelor’s degree in any subject.
- must be a first-generation college student.
- must qualify for financial aid or show economic need.
- must have a minimum of a 2.0 GPA.
Application
To apply, fill out the MESA Application. You will receive an email from the MESA Coordinator to schedule an intake interview to discuss program requirements.
