Copper Mountain College Foundation is excited to present virtual Fall FUNdraising Week, September 12-19, 2020, to raise money for Copper Mountain College’s Health Sciences Department.

Every September Copper Mountain College Foundation hosts a Fall Fundraising Dinner to raise funds for our students, programs, and facilities at Copper Mountain College.

As with many events, our team has found it necessary to shift to a virtual event this year. With that being said, we want to make it fun! After all, FUNdraising means having fun while helping students. The goal is to raise $20,000.

The COVID-19 pandemic has made us all acutely aware of our community’s need for well-trained nurses, emergency medical technicians, and first responders.

CMC is proud of our students, many of which are doing clinical rotations through local facilities like Hi-Desert Medical Center, Desert Regional Medical Center, Eisenhower, JFK, and the Naval Hospital, as well as our alumni who bravely serve our family and friends in the Morongo Basin and beyond.

The Foundation is committed to maintaining this level of student success. Just this past year the Foundation funded ATI Testing for all VN students, bought three new training mannequins, supported all EMT students with the Jeff Tabor Memorial EMT Scholarship, administered the Deavah Woodley Memorial RN Scholarship, provided COVID relief funding to the 2021 Class of Vocational Nurses, and updated the science labs on campus.

For eight days, September 12-19, 2020, the Foundation will have fun and focus on CMC’s Health Science Department, its needs, the students, programs, and facilities. You will learn something, we will share their joys and trials, and hopefully, together we will make their journey a bit easier.

Did you know that over 70% of California’s nurses graduate from a California Community College? Although CMC is the smallest of California Community Colleges, for 2019-20 our Nursing Program had a 99.5% success rate and a 99.5% retention rate.

Aside from raising money for our students’ needs, we will be having social media contests, an online auction at www.biddingowl.com/coppermountaincollegefoun, a 50/50 raffle, and a final toast live on Zoom Saturday evening, September 19, 2020, at 6:00 pm.

Sign up for the daily email, enjoy the videos, participate in the contests, share our stories, and above all, please donate at the Foundation website. As teacher Jackie Mutcheson said, “It takes each of us to make a difference for all of us.”
