Kim Martin
Biography
Kim Martin, also known as “Ms. Kim” to her adult and preschool students, has been in the field of early childhood education and child development for over 30 years.
Kim discovered her joy for early education while working as a classroom assistant in the child care program at her high school. She pursued this passion throughout community college, undergrad, and graduate school by working as a preschool teacher, summer camp director, curriculum creator, staff trainer, and adjunct instructor for an adult continuing education program before landing at CMC in Fall 2018.
Kim’s full time work for CMC has her not only instructing students who are pursuing degrees and certification in early childhood education, but also being a professional growth advisor for holders of Child Development Permits, and providing outreach to the community about the ECE program and courses. Kim’s love of collaboration recently led to the ECE program donating numerous new books to the Greenleaf Library where they now reside in the new Early Childhood Literature collection which is growing still today!
When she’s not teaching or playing with young children, Kim can be found in nature with her camera, at home relaxing with a good science fiction story or podcast, or enjoying the company of her friends and family.
