Cherilyn Henderson
Biography
Hi everyone, my name is Cherilyn Henderson. I have been a Preschool Director for over 16 years and worked in Early Childhood Education for nearing 25 years. I hold a Child Development Program Director Permit from the State of California Teacher Credentialing and mentor other educators regarding instructional practices & Title 22 licensing. I belong to several professional organizations and often network on contemporary ECE issues from a regional and national level.
My interest in Early Childhood Education began as a young mom when I was fascinated with child development. I initially enrolled in an ECE certificate program, which caused me to start an educational journey, such as you are taking. My passion for learning led to earning an Associate’s & Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and a Master’s in Education with a concentration in Early Childhood. As a student and Preschool Director, my research interests focus on child learning centers, developmentally appropriate practices, culturally responsive learning, and conducting Action Research. I continue to be intrigued by how children learn about their environment and experiences through play.
On a personal note, I am a lifelong resident of the Morongo Basin. I love our desert night skies and enjoy the outdoors with my husband and son. In my off time, I enjoy walking my dogs and hiking. I wish you success!
