Copper Mountain College (CMC) is excited to announce the Board of Trustees has approved inter-collegiate Women’s Volleyball.

CMC is hopeful to begin the new program, pending the curriculum approval, in Fall of 2021.

“The athletic department is excited for the addition of volleyball this fall season. The desire from our prospective student-athletes for the sport as well as the tremendous support of athletics from our community is going to make for a great inaugural season. With this expansion of the athletics program, more people will have the opportunity to experience everything that Copper Mountain College has to offer,” shared Ken Simonds, Athletic Director and Women’s Head Basketball Coach.

Anyone interested in supporting the new Volleyball program is welcome to join the CMC Athletic Booster Club. The Boosters invite volunteers and members from all areas of campus and the community, students, parents, and alumni to help build a solid program in which our students succeed.

“As a current CMC student and lover of athletics, I can personally say that I am ecstatic for the addition of a volleyball team at Copper Mountain College. Not only will the sport enable students and staff to socialize at sporting events, but the team will be able to uplift the student body and promote school involvement. Having another sport in addition to basketball will be great for the community to allow local students to play college-level sports. Overall this program will give amazing opportunities to many students, and I can’t wait to see it take off,” shared Annie Hilderbrand.
