Dr. Otten from Copper Mountain College has suspended classes for next week. He said, “As everyone is aware, we are currently experiencing very uncertain and challenging times.”

Due to ongoing concerns associated with COVID-19, in-person classes at Copper Mountain College will be suspended from March 16 through March 21, 2020. During this time, we will mobilize resources to transition as many face-to-face classes as possible to remote or distance delivery.

CMC will observe Spring Break from March 22 through March 29, 2020. On March 30, 2020, we plan to continue remote and online education delivery of most classes until further notice. An update on laboratory classes will be provided on March 27, 2020.

We plan to keep our most spacious facilities with ample computer stations (SSC and Library) open in the event that students and faculty need help transitioning to Canvas. Personnel in student services and in the library will be available to support students with Canvas on a drop-in basis.

Faculty will continue to conduct their classes through remote instruction via Canvas. Administrators, classifieds, student workers, and confidential employees are expected to report to work, as the college remains open to provide services to students and faculty.

CMC plans to provide on-campus support throughout this entire period and will reassess conditions as warranted. CMC will provide updates to its website regularly and will be communicating to students and staff via emails often as developments are rapidly evolving.
