Classified Senate
The Classified Senate annually sponsors a Bowl-A-Thon to raise money for scholarships which benefit Copper Mountain College students. This event is well attended by College faculty, staff, students, community members, & businesses are recognized as donors upon sales of tickets and presentation of prizes, via weekly emails, and flyers with donor names posted at the event. Each year, the Classified Senate has increased its student scholarship giving through the generosity, consideration and support from business organizations, such as yours. The Classified Senate takes great pride and joy in assisting students achieve their educational and academic endeavors.
Because of our Donors’ generosity and Bidders’ deep pockets, Classified Senate’s 2022 Online Auction raised $1,630.00 for student scholarships!!

Classified Senate Meetings are held every 4th Wednesday of the month
in the Library Meeting Room or Zoom from 12 – 1.
Purpose
The purpose of the Classified Senate is to adhere to the role outlined in the Governance Handbook, under “Roles and Authority in Decision-Making, Role of Classified Staff”, as well as:
1. Support student goals and faculty efforts in achieving the institutional goal of 100% student success by:
a. Providing a comfortable, clean, and safe environment for student learning;
b. Supporting student diversity to create an environment of respect and affirmation;
c. Enhancing student growth and development while educating and focusing resources to meet the needs of every student;
d. Assisting students for university transfer, occupational preparation, and skill development;
e. Attracting and retaining a highly skilled and talented workforce at Copper Mountain College;
f. Supporting faculty in the process of providing comprehensive and innovative curricula to students;
g. And continuing fundraising efforts to provide scholarships for educational opportunities.
2. Represent the various non-bargaining needs, concerns, and viewpoints of all Classified Staff.
3. Promote Classified Staff recognition.
4. Encourage positive growth through professional and personal leadership development opportunities and mentorship programs.
5. Serve as a representative body of the Classified Staff in the planning and decision-making processes of Copper Mountain College.
6. Promote positive communication and interactions within all constituency and participatory governance groups in support of the Mission of Copper Mountain College.
Classified Senate Constitution
The Classified Senate participates annually in fundraising activities, such as the Bowl-A-Thon, which are devoted to providing scholarships to CMC students. In addition, the Senate also raises money through various creative ideas of its members. This money is used to put on occasional get-togethers and support of our Classified Staff and the campus community.
