Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at Copper Mountain College from September 15–October 15 with a month of food, music, culture, movement, art, and community! We’ll kick things off on Tuesday, September 15, from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. at Jorge’s Café with Taco Tuesday & Music Bingo, featuring tacos for purchase, music, and a lively game of Music Bingo. On Tuesday, September 22, from 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., follow the sound of Luna Diurnal Mariachi as live mariachi music travels to five stops across campus: the 100 Quad Lawn, 200 Quad Lawn, Parking Lot, Amphitheatre, and 300 Quad Lawn. Stop by the Christine Proudfoot Student Activity Center (The SAC) on Wednesday, September 23, from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. for Wellness Wednesday: Steeped in Tradition, a tasting experience exploring teas and herbal infusions enjoyed across Latin American cultures. Then, on Wednesday, September 30, from 9 a.m.–4 p.m., contribute a favorite food memory to Flan, Family & Fotos: CMC Community Food Story Wall and enjoy flan from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. while supplies last. Get moving on Monday, October 5, from noon–1 p.m. with Just Dance CMC: Bad Bunny Edition, led by CMC faculty member Savannah Jacobs and co-hosted by the CMC Latinx Association—no dance experience required! Finally, close out the celebration on Thursday, October 15, from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. with Frida + Flower Crowns, featuring a screening of Frida and flower-crown making inspired by the iconic Mexican artist, also co-hosted by the CMC Latinx Association. All events are open to all CMC students and staff—come celebrate heritage, culture, connection, and community with us!
