What is HOWL? HOWL is Copper Mountain College’s student-edited art and literary magazine, showcasing both CMC student work and creative voices from across the Hi-Desert community. Our goal each year is to highlight the depth, creativity, and lived experiences that make this community unique!

 

We are still accepting:

• Visual art
• Photography
• Poetry
• Short stories (approximately 2,500 words or fewer)

 

Submission guidelines

• Work must be original
• AI-generated submissions cannot be accepted
• Include a short 2–3 sentence artist/writer bio
• Community contributors should indicate their connection to the Hi-Desert in their bio
• Visual artwork should be clearly photographed or scanned
• Submissions are reviewed anonymously by our student editorial team

 

Three Submission Options

You may submit your work in any of the following ways:

1. Upload through the Google Form
2. Upload via Dropbox (no account required)
   1. Please include your email address and/or contact information with a short bio (2-3 sentences) by uploading a separate file named LastName_FirstName_Bio.
3. Email your submission to tchen@cmccd.edu
4. Subject line: HOWL Submission
