COPPER MOUNTAIN COLLEGE FOUNDATION ACCEPTING ART AUCTION DONATIONS
The Copper Mountain College Foundation is accepting donations for its 14th Annual Alumni Association Art Auction, to be held February 28, 2009, at the Helen Gray Education Center. Benefits from the auction support the CMC art department and provide funding for 33 scholarships, including 16 awarded annually to seniors at all 4 local high schools.
The Copper Mountain College Foundation announced today that Wells Fargo will sponsor the cost of the college's new AlertU emergency notification system.
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS GET HEAD-START ON COLLEGE EDUCATION
Copper Mountain College is giving graduating seniors and juniors a head-start on their college education through the Bridge Program being offered this winter on campus through Title V.
The winter Bridge Program invites high school juniors and seniors to participate in a preparatory winter bridge to college success at Copper Mountain College. This program allows incoming students the opportunity to become comfortable, adjusted, and ready to be successful. The program will run the week of January 5-8th Mon-Thurs on the Copper Mountain College Campus from 2:30-4:45pm, with pizza and soda included.
Copper Mountain College will recognize its newest emergency medical technician graduates during a ceremony on December 18th at 6:00 p.m. in Bruce's Coyote Kitchen on Campus.
COPPER MOUNTAIN COLLEGE STUDENTS TUTOR IN LOCAL SCHOOLS
Every week during the school year, student tutors head out from the Copper Mountain College campus to schools in the Morongo Unified School District and Child Development Centers.

Copper Mountain College will proudly pin 10 Certified Nursing Assistants during a ceremony on November 10th at 2:30 p.m. in Bruce's Coyote Kitchen on campus.

CMC BREAKS GROUND ON NEW BELL CENTER
Copper Mountain College (CMC) will break ground for the new Bell Center at 9:00 am on October 1st.
The groundbreaking of the new Bell Center will signify the start of the expansion project that will greatly transform the college over the next few years. The Bell center is being funded as part of Copper Mountain Colleges Capital Outlay projects.
CMC BREAKS GROUND ON TORTOISE HABITAT
JOSHUA TREE, Ca - Copper Mountain College (CMC) will begin breaking ground for their tortoise habitat by fencing in the tortoise translocation (TA) area on the college campus later next week.
As many in the community are aware, CMC has started an expansion project that will greatly transform the college over the next few years. The first of three new projects begins at the end of this week with the placement of fencing for the tortoise translocation area and quickly followed by the groundbreaking of the Bell Center on October 1st. The remodel for efficiency of various phases of the campus will follow later this year.
CMC PARTNERS TO OFFER 2008 WATER SYMPOSIUM TO BASIN RESIDENTS

The 2008 Morongo Basin Water Symposium, sponsored by Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency, Copper Mountain College, County of San Bernardino, Hi-Desert Water District, Joshua Basin Water District, and Mojave Water Agency, will be an event you can't miss. It will be held Thursday, October 9th from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Joshua Tree Retreat Center. Immediately following the Water Symposium at the same location will be the Practical Advances in Southwestern Sustainability (PASS) Eco-Summit, which will focus on practical methods for achieving and maintaining sustainability. PASS is sponsored by the Basin Wide Foundation, Copper Mountain College, Joshua Tree National Park and the High Desert Living Arts Center.
REBECCA A. JUNKER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP WILL AID SKY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
The Copper Mountain College Foundation is pleased to announce that $3,621 has been donated in memory of Rebecca A. Junker to fund an annual $500 scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to a Sky High School student who plans to attend Copper Mountain College.
DR. ROGER WAGNER NAMED SUPERINTENDENT/PRESIDENT OF COPPER MOUNTAIN COLLEGE
Concluding a nationwide search, the Copper Mountain Community College (CMCCD) Board of Trustees has announced the appointment of Roger Wagner, Ph.D. as Superintendent/President. Dr. Wagner will start his new position effective July 1, 2008 replacing Dr. Patricia Caldwell, who was appointed Interim Superintendent/President in August of 2007
COPPER MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT ANNOUNCES CMC SUPERINTENDENT/PRESIDENT CANDIDATE FORUM
Members of the college community and the public will be able to meet and hear presentations from the finalists for the position of Superintendent/President of Copper Mountain College on Monday, May 19, 2008 from 3:00 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. and Tuesday, May 20, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. at the Copper Mountain College Coyote Kitchen. Each of the four candidates will have 30 minutes to speak and answer questions.
The 2008 graduating class of Copper Mountain College, will don their caps and gowns on Friday May 23rd at 6:45 p.m. in Phase III of the Copper Mountain College campus located at 6162 Rotary Way, Joshua Tree, CA 92252.
The 2008 graduating class has 151 graduates from the Morongo Basin earning Certificates as well as Associate Degrees. The ceremony is open to the public, and the community is encouraged to attend, so they can share in the accomplishments of area students.
