Re-Opening Guidelines

Limited Campus Re-Opening

Copper Mountain College will be physically reopening the campus to students on a limited basis, with reduced capacity to accommodate for social distancing. While we still encourage remote services to minimize in-person interactions, the areas listed below will be open. If you are on campus, we ask that you respect the policies of each location as listed below:

Greenleaf Library – Hours of Operation: Monday – Thursday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
The library will be open to CMC students and employees only at this time.

  • Students must wear a mask to enter the library. We encourage students to bring their own masks. If you do not have one on hand, they will be available for you in the foyer to put on before entering the library space.
  • Upon entering the library, please check in at the front library counter with your student ID or class schedule information.
  • If you are in the open space of the library, such as the computer lab area, you must keep your mask on at all times.
  • If you are in an enclosed space with no social interaction, such as the library study rooms, you do not need to keep your mask on.
  • Capacity will be monitored and regulated to ensure that social distancing guidelines can be met for your health and safety.

Student Services – Hours of Operation: Monday – Thursday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Student services has remote capabilities to serve students in all areas and departments, so that you do not have to come to campus for registration, admission, records, and counseling services. However, if there is an educational need to be on campus, please respect the following guidelines:

  • A mask must be worn at all times. We encourage students to bring their own masks. If you do not have one on hand, they will be available for you in the foyer to put on before entering the Student Services space.
  • While in the building, please use the 6 ft. social distancing markers that will be located on the floor to minimize crowding. Capacity will be monitored and regulated as needed.
  • We ask that you call or email Admissions and Records before you come in, to see if it is something we can assist you with remotely to save you a trip to the campus.

Student Success Center – Hours of Operation: Monday – Thursday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

The Student Success Center computer lab will be open to students.
Students must check in at the front counter.

  • A mask must be worn at all times. We encourage students to bring their own masks. If you do not have one on hand, they will be available for you in the foyer to put on before entering the Student Success Center space.
  • While in the computer lab, please only use computers that are marked for use. This will ensure 6ft. social distancing.

Cashier’s Office – Hours of Operation: Monday – Thursday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

  • We are not requiring parking passes for students for the 2020-21 academic year.
  • We will have online payment for all CMC related charges beginning on August 1st.

The Office of Instruction – Hours of Operation: Monday – Thursday 8:00 am- 5:00 pm

The Office of Instruction has remote capabilities to serve students for most of your needs so that you do not have to come to campus for grade appeals, grievances, pre-requisite challenges etc. However, if there is a compelling need to be on campus, please respect the following guidelines:

  • A mask must be worn at all times. We encourage students to bring their own masks. If you do not have one on hand, they will be available for you at the entrance to the Office of Instruction.
  • We ask that you call or email before coming in to see if we can assist you remotely. Any matters discussing your student record should originate on your CMC email address.

The following services for students will continue in a fully remote environment:

  • Mental Health Counseling – As many of us are experiencing uncertain and trying times, we have made a commitment to continue mental health services throughout the summer session. To make a virtual or phone appointment with our Mental Health Counselor, please contact: access@cmccd.edu; 760-366-5201 ext 5861.
  • Tutoring/Learning Resource Center – Tutoring support will continue to be available in the summer through Canvas. Information on how to access tutoring services can be found here: https://www.cmccd.edu/current-students/tutoring/.
