Presidents Message and Report

Please find several updates from the general Board of Trustee meetings that were held on November 10th, 2022.
There was a closed session with three items, A. pursuant to Government Code Section 54957: Public Employee Discipline/Dismissal/Release; B. Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(b): Potential Litigation Against the District; C. Pursuant to Government Code Section 54957: Evaluation of the Superintendent/President.

Coming out of closed session, the Board voted to approve two settlement agreements resolving employment disputes arising from a retirement system audit with two former faculty members.

The Trustees then started the general meeting with the traditional reports and then moved into several information items.
As this month’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) presentation, several employees shared the great work that has been put into The Student Equity Plan, which the Board subsequently approved. The Board also conducted first readings of BP 4010 Academic Calendar and BP 6250 Budget Management and reviewed the AP 4010 Academic Calendar.

The Trustees took action on several consent items including affirming several student employees, payroll, classified on-call employees, and part-time faculty appointments.

Upon the recommendation of the Academic Senate, the Board took action to affirm a revised course outline of record, a deactivated course outline of record, new course outlines of record, a new degree program, a degree program revision.

On the HR side, the Trustees took action to approve a classified employee out-of-class pay, two classified employee appointments, a classified employee retirement, a confidential employee retirement.

In Business Services, the Board approved a Brailsford & Dunlavey Student Housing Feasibility Study and SB169 Support Services Contract, a five-year agreement with Ellucian CRM Advise, and the payment of warrants report.

The next scheduled meeting is on December 15th and will include the annual organizational meeting.
