Instructor at Copper Mountain College to be Recognized

Copper Mountain College is pleased to announce Professor Steve Parkin, Chemistry/Physics Instructor will be recognized and honored at the May 14th University of California, Irvine Awards Ceremony.

Ming Shao former mathematics and science student at CMC identified Professor Parkin as an instructor who has had the most significant impact on his academic performance and successful entrance into UCI. UCI is known for excellence in science whereby three of its researchers have won Nobel Prizes in chemistry and physics.

Melynie Schiel, Dean of Instruction, states “Professor Parkin shows passion and commitment to his students by promoting high academic standards and advanced studies. I’m excited that Professor Parkin is being honored by UC Irvine because it highlights the fact that Copper Mountain College offers students from our local community a comprehensive selection of programs and courses allowing them to complete the first two years of their Bachelor’s degree right here in the Morongo Basin.”
