Mr. Aye played basketball for San Jose City College under hall of fame coach Percy Carr.  Percy is the all-time winningest college basketball coach in California Community College, with 881 wins to date. Devin comes from a basketball coaching family, with success in their own rights.  He will begin with an impressive 100 life-time member Booster Club, courtesy of our tremendous community and CMC Foundation, to help support his efforts.

Mr. Aye has been a Head Basketball Coach at two California Community colleges and, against all odds, has won Conference Championships at both.  He has been part of the California Community College Men’s Basketball Coaches Association (CCCMBCA) as Board Representative to the Commission for the Golden Valley Conference. Devin’s career highlights include: 2016 BIG 8 Conference Coach of the Year, 2013 Golden Valley Conference Coach of the Year, 82 game wins in 4 years as a head California Community College Coach, 14 former players currently on scholarship at Universities playing basketball and coached collegiate men’s basketball for 12 years at the NCAA, NAIA and California Community College levels.

Mr. Aye holds two Masters of Science degrees; one in Exercise Science, and a second in Sport Management. His Bachelor’s degree is in Kinesiology with a Physical Education Emphasis. After a recent one year interim head coaching job at Cosumnes River Community College, Devin was looking for a challenge. Mr. Jeff Cummings, Superintendent/President for Copper Mountain College said, “Devin is an impressive coach and leader. We are fortunate that he and his family are willing to take a chance on us.  I am confident that Devin is the person we need to dig in and help build a solid athletics program at CMC”.

Mr. Aye is expected to begin his role as the District’s first Athletic Director on March 20, 2017 and stated, “My family and I are extremely excited to move to the area and put Copper Mountain College on the map with intercollegiate basketball. The campus and facilities are beautiful, and I can’t wait to get the community involved and excited about Copper Mountain College athletics. The potential is unlimited at Copper Mountain College. I am looking forward to working hard to deliver a brand of athletics the community can embrace and be proud to support. Thank you for this rare and special opportunity and I look forward to personally meeting and thanking all the Booster Members and supporters of Copper Mountain College”.
