Copper Mountain College will recognize its Vocational Nursing Program Class of 2019 and Registered Nursing Program Class of 2019 graduates during a Pinning Ceremony on May 22, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. in the Gymnasium at the Bell Center on the CMC campus. The Pinning Ceremony is a time-honored celebration recognizing the completion of the rigorous course of study and welcoming these newly-graduated students into the nursing profession. The students have asked Mr. Jeff Cummings, CMC Superintendent/President, Trisha Robinson, RN, BSN, and Tony Bottorff, RN, to speak during the ceremony. The student speakers will be Heidi Nelson, SVN, and Alesha McGough, SRN.
In addition, the CMC Commencement Ceremony for the 2019 graduates will be held Thursday, May 23, 2019, at 5:45 p.m. in the Bell Center Gymnasium.
CMC will award 261 degrees. Of those, 36 students are receiving two degrees, 7 students are earning three degrees, three students are receiving four degrees, and one student is receiving 6 degrees. CMC will also award 70 certificates of achievement. Of those, 3 graduates will receive two certificates, 1 student is receiving five certificates and 56 graduates will receive certificates along with their degrees.
“It has truly been an exciting year at Copper Mountain College, and we are so proud of our students’ hard work and achievements”, says Jeff Cummings, Superintendent/ President. “We are honored to celebrate this milestone with the friends and families of our graduates”.
The Commencement Ceremony speakers include: keynote speaker, Tomás D. Morales, President, California State University, San Bernardino; faculty speaker, Jeffrey Haig, Professor of Accounting; and graduate speaker, Carly Patricia Harmony Quintero Jacobs, who is receiving Associate in Art degrees in Psychology and Studio Arts.
