Sky’s The Limit Observatory Becomes a Satellite Campus for Copper Mountain College Astronomy Classes

Just in time for Fall Semester Astronomy classes, an Affiliation Agreement between Copper Mountain College (CMC), and Sky’s The Limit Observatory and Nature Center (STL), has established the observatory as a satellite campus for the college’s Astronomy courses. Astronomy students from CMC will have as their “laboratory,” the dark desert skies of Twentynine Palms, on the border of Joshua Tree National Park.

Fighting Cacti Men’s Basketball Team Wins First Playoff Game vs. Cerritos

The Copper Mountain Fighting Cacti Men’s Basketball team found out Sunday afternoon that they had done just enough to earn the last seed (#24) in the CCCAA Southern California Regional Playoffs. Their reward…a trip to the ninth seeded Cerritos Falcons, a team that beat the Cacti by twenty points earlier in the season. The Cacti were not just happy to be in the playoffs though, they believe in their abilities to play with the best in the state. They proved it in the very difficult Inland Empire Athletic Conference, a conference that saw five of their teams makes the regional tournament and they proved it again on Wednesday night as they took down Cerritos in double overtime 94-91.
