SUMMARY:AI and Community: Co-Creating Our Future” Conference
DESCRIPTION:Copper Mountain College will host its 2026 Institutional Learning Outcomes (ILO) Conference\, “AI and Community: Co-Creating Our Future\,” on Saturday\, May 9\, 2026\, bringing together students\, faculty\, and community members to explore the evolving role of artificial intelligence in our daily lives. The conference will begin at 9 A.M. in Copper Mountain College’s Bell Center with a keynote address by Cheryl Strauss Einhorn of the SC Johnson School of Business at Cornell University.  Programming will continue throughout the day\, with a variety of sessions\, activities\, and experiences offered from 9:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. \nThe entire Morongo Basin community and beyond are invited to this dynamic\, day-long conference to examine how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping teaching and learning\, career pathways\, relationships\, and the broader human experience. Through a mix of discussions\, interactive sessions\, and creative activities\, attendees will engage with critical questions surrounding technology\, ethics\, and the future of innovation. \nDesigned to be both thought-provoking and joyful\, the conference will feature: \n\nConversations and discussions on AI\, ethics\, and the future\nInteractive spaces for creativity\, reflection\, and community connection\nArt displays and imaginative experiences celebrating human expression\nStorytelling gatherings and opportunities to unplug and engage\nLighthearted elements such as cosplay and creative play\n\n“AI and Community: Co-Creating Our Future” aims to create an environment where meaningful dialogue meets creativity—where learning is paired with curiosity\, and serious conversations are balanced with moments of joy and connection. \nThe conference reflects Copper Mountain College’s ongoing commitment to fostering student success\, community engagement\, and forward-thinking dialogue around emerging technologies. \nParticipants will also have the opportunity to contribute their perspectives throughout the event helping shape the experience and ensure the conference reflects the interests and needs of the college and surrounding community going forward. \nThe event is open to students\, employees\, and community members interested in the intersection of technology\, creativity\, and human connection.
