Artists Council Experimental Exhibition at Copper Mountain College.

The Visual Arts Program and Cultural Education Committee of Copper Mountain College (CMC) are once again thrilled to announce their Annual Experimental Art Exhibition on the College campus.

The outdoor artworks of eight Palm Springs Art Museum Artists Council members will be featured during the months of April and May. Each of the unique outdoor works is a site-specific installation, with artists creating their art works based on selected campus locations through varied methods and media. Windmills, dancing figures, aluminum bowls, inspiring words, found objects, and colorful glass, make this show a visual delight and conceptually engaging, while strolling across CMC’s beautiful desert campus.

The exhibition is open to the public beginning April 10th and continuing through May 29th. You can visit the CMC campus Monday through Friday from 8 am to 8 pm or Saturdays 8 am to 4 pm.

Artists participating in this year’s Artists Council Experimental Exhibition are Tammy Ashworth, Cathy Allen, Zach Fleming, Barbara Gothard, Daniel Hogan, Mike McLain, Karen Mortensen, and Jenn Richards.

The public is invited to a free artist reception at CMC in Bruce’s Place, April 14, 2018 from 3 to 6 pm, which will feature CMC Art students hosting guided tours and offering refreshments. The reception is supported by the Copper Mountain College Foundation.

The college is located at 6162 Rotary Way, Joshua Tree CA 92252. For more information contact Professor Cathy Allen at 760-366-3791 or callen@cmccd.edu.
