The Bell Name

Leota Bell, known to her friends as “Lee,” began her Tradition of Support in 1981 after she and her late husband Bill heard of the bold goal of the Friends of Copper Mountain College. Lee has played a major role in helping us to grow, and it was a wonderful day when the name “The Bell Center” was adopted and we broke ground.

An inspiration to all who know her, Lee loves the
Morongo Basin because of its people: no-nonsense folks who understand education is important, but who still take the time to laugh about life. We love you Lee, and wish you a Happy 96th Birthday!
