Ruth Rieman to Speak at Copper Mountain College

    April 11, 2010

JOSHUA TREE, Ca – On April 21st, Ruth Rieman will speak at Copper Mountain College.

Representatives of the California Desert Coalition (CDC) will share their experience as a grassroots organization in their successful effort to stop the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power’s Green Path North from affecting the communities and lands between Desert Hot Springs and Hesperia. CDC developed effective means of communication with a highly skilled and dedicated volunteer force. The CDC is a nonpartisan, issue advocacy group organized as a committee of The Summer Tree Institute.

Ruth Rieman’s presentation will begin at 6:00 p.m. at Bruce’s Coyote Kitchen, on the Copper Mountain College Campus. April 21 was selected for this presentation as a tribute to California’s beloved naturalist and Sierra Club founder, John Muir, on what would have been his 172nd birthday.
