Ellen Baird reading at Copper Mountain College

    November 25, 2009

JOSHUA TREE, Ca – Ellen Baird will be the featured author at Copper Mountain College on December 1st at 6:00 p.m.

Ellen will be reading from a series of short stories, "Men, woman and motorcycles". Ellen is currently a faculty member at Copper Mountain College.

Ellen said, that “Theres always this moment when I submit my writing when the responses could go either way.  Without a gauge, the limbo of subjection could be ended by admiration or un-interest.  In this case, the elements of the story I like were met equally.  I had discovered something.  I began to see that as the writer, I could control how much the reader needs to know.  In this way, the piece is interactive.  Many possibilities fit into the gaps, and the reader fills them in telling ways."

This reading is part of an ongoing series of author and speaker events sponsored by the Copper Mountain College Foundation.  This event being held in Bruce’s Coyote Kitchen is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
