COPPER MOUNTAIN COLLEGE BELL CENTER 50% COMPLETE

Copper Mountain College (CMC) is pleased to announce that as of this week, the construction of the Bell Center passes the 50% completion mark.

Construction of the Bell Center represents a milestone in the history of the young college’s as it nears the final facilities requirement in becoming a “complete campus” while at the same time, celebrating its 25th Anniversary. “The Bell Center, at 40,000 square feet, will have the ability to host theatrical, musical and other live performance events on a scale that is currently not available in the Morongo Basin. We are excited about the prospects for the entire community, and look forward to the opportunities and economic benefits that hosting exhibitions and large scale events can provide,” said Dr. Wagner, Superintendent/President of CMC.

Construction is progressing quickly, and major changes to the building can be viewed easily from Highway 62. “The project will be a tremendous asset to the college and the Morongo Basin” stated Dan Cain, facilities director for the College. Day Construction serves as the general contractor for The Bell Center and has kept the project on schedule with minimal delays or roadblocks since construction began.

CMC expects completion of the Bell Center in the spring of 2010, with the sports fields, to follow within 36 to 48 months.  Fittings for the Bell Center and completion of the sports fields are to be funded by a Capital Campaign which is currently underway. Donations for the sports fields and Bell Center can be made to the CMC Foundation in a number of ways; including by pledge over several years, through planned giving, by monthly or quarterly installments, or by direct cash contributions. The CMC Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3). Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
