Copper Mountain College to Honor EMT Graduates

    JOSHUA TREE, Ca –Copper Mountain College will recognize its newest Emergency Medical Technician graduates during a ceremony on May 14th at 5:30 p.m. in Bruce’s Coyote Kitchen on campus.

    Copper Mountain College offers the Emergency Medical Technician course each semester.  The course of study includes 72 hours of classroom instruction, 38 hours of skills demonstration and 70 hours of field and clinical experience in various High Desert agencies.  Students study and practice the fundamental principles and skills required to provide care to patients experiencing trauma and emergency medical conditions.

    Upon completion of this course the students are eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Examination and apply to the local EMS Authority for the county-issued State certification as an Emergency Medical Technician-1.
