Copper Mountain College Foundation Announces 25th Annual Golf Tournament

    March 4, 2009

JOSHUA TREE, CA – Copper Mountain College Foundation will hold its 25th Annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, April 4th, beginning at 7 a.m. at the Desert Winds Golf Course aboard the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms.

This year’s event will be a one-day scramble aimed at encouraging families and friends of Copper Mountain College (CMC) to join in on the 25th Silver Anniversary celebration. In addition to the annual Closest to the Pin contest, participants can compete for the Longest Drive, as well as test their skills in Putting and Chipping contests. New this year is the Hole-In-One contest and a live auction of consumer electronics which include a big screen TV, laptop computer and MP3 player.

“We are pleased to be at Desert Winds Golf Course this year as many Marines and Sailors, and their families, attend CMC and want to participate. Having the event on Base will make it easier for them to support this fundraising effort and to take part in the fun. It’s also exciting for Morongo Basin residents to venture onto the Base, something many of us don’t do often,” said Syndee Slayton, Executive Director of the CMC Foundation.

The entry fee is $60 and includes a round of 18-hole golf, contest entries, prizes, continental breakfast, lunch, free driving range play and admission to the Awards Dinner. Additional Awards Dinner tickets are available for $15. In addition to their many benefits, sponsors of this year’s event will also have a unique opportunity to include play for Active Duty Marines or Sailors as part of their Platinum and Diamond Sponsorship packages.

Sponsors should complete their registration by March 20th and participants by March 23rd. Participants are encouraged to register early as a full field is expected.
