CMC To Celebrate Women’s History Month on March 20

    March 12, 2014

March is National Women’s History Month, and Copper Mountain Community College is celebrating with a special event for its Third Thursday Cultural Series on March 20, from 12 - 1 p.m. in the Bell Center Community Room.  All are invited to come dressed as their favorite woman from history and may present a three-minute “in character” speech if you choose.

Participants in costume are asked to meet and register in front of the Library at 11:30 a.m.  A parade will then proceed across campus to the Bell Center Community Room, where each person may give a three-minute speech as their chosen woman.  Past honorees have ranged from the hatchet-wielding temperance advocate Carrie Nation to rock star Joan Jett.

This entertaining, bring-your-own brown bag lunch event is free and open to the public (in costume or not).  The T hird Thursday Cultural Series is sponsored by the Cultural Education Enhancement Committee and the CMC Foundation.  For more information, contact Cathy Allen at 760-366-3791, ext. 0600.
