Copper Mountain College Professor Honored at Annual Association of Community and Continuing Education Conference.

    On February 6, 2014, at their most recent annual conference in San Francisco, the Association of Community and Continuing Education (ACCE) presented the 2014 Continuing (noncredit) Education Recognition Award for Excellence to Antoaneta Bonev, the English as a Second Language (ESL) professor at Copper Mountain College.

    Dr. Roger Wagner, Superintendent/President for Copper Mountain College stated, “I’m extremely proud of Annie, and grateful for all the wonderful work she does to make her students successful.  The ACCE got it right when they selected her for this well-deserved and prestigious award”.


    The ACCE is a statewide organization representing the 112 California Community Colleges’ programs in noncredit education, community services, and lifelong learning.  Professor Bonev has been teaching ESL at CMC since Fall 2011 and has been employed at the college since April 2008. 

    Erica LeBlanc, Past President of the ACCE commented, "ACCE is pleased to recognize Antoaneta Bonev with the Excellence in Continuing (Noncredit) Education award for 2014 for her dedication to the noncredit ESL students at Copper Mountain College.  Her life story is truly inspiring to us all.  Antoaneta embodies tenacity, moving from student to instructor, and generosity of spirit in giving back to the community as an instructor.  We are pleased to honor her accomplishments and her dedication to the field of noncredit English as a Second Language programs."
