The Rotary Clubs of Joshua Tree, Twentynine Palms, Yucca Valley Noon and Yucca Valley Sunset held a raffle and Chili Cook-off at Copper Mountain College in December to draw the winning ticket for a Harley Davidson Heritage Softail motorcycle.

Paul Messner, CPA from Messner and Hadley, was on hand to draw the winning ticket; meanwhile, Sam Smith with Z107.7 FM broadcasted live all the festivities of the event.  The lucky winner was Doug Peercy of 29 Palms, CA.

Pete Wood, President of the CMC Foundation said, “I am happy to see the partnership between the Morongo Basin Rotary Clubs and the Copper Mountain College Foundation help push funding for the Christine Proudfoot Student Activity Center over the halfway mark.  Mr. Peercy, a valley local, saw the chance to help his community and we were glad to reward him for his support.  I would like to say thank you to everyone who participated in the raffle as we raised over $20,000. The Foundation will continue to reach out to the community to meet our goal of raising $500,000 to complete this much needed facility for our students.”
