(Joshua Tree, CA. – August 24, 2011) Copper Mountain College’s student art club is proud to present the Faculty Art show. It is currently on display in the Bell Center’s Community Room. Works by Art Department Faculty members, Cathy Allen, Brian Bosworth, Robert Brasier, Luther Broome, Spelman Downer, and Marjorie Franklin are exhibited. “A group art show always tends to create  cohesion among its participants, so it’s nice to think that this show might represent our CMC Art Department in that way,” notes Cathy Allen, Fine Arts Professor at CMC. “We thought that a faculty show might inspire students to consider an art education, as well as inspiring the pursuit of professional artistic goals in their own lives,” she adds.

The art on display ranges from mixed media assemblage to photography and painting. All works showcase the diverse and contemporaneous expertise of CMC’s art instructors.

The public is invited to attend the artist’s reception on Friday, September 16th from 3-6 pm. Refreshments will be served at this free community event. The show runs until October 14th.
