The Presidents' Circle donor members meet quarterly with the President of the College, as well as the President of the Foundation Board, to discuss local issues and opportunities. Quarterly luncheons feature a selected college program and guest speakers who present the program from three perspectives: the faculty, the community and the students.

In addition to our program, the luncheons feature updates from the CMC President, the Board President and the Executive Director of the Foundation.

October, 2008

Our most recent luncheon featured the CMC Art Department's RGB Multimedia Competition. Art Department Professor, Spelman Evans Downer, explained the program which allows multimedia presentations developed in the Digital Photography course to compete for cash prizes provided through the Foundation's Art program.

Discussing the impact to the community of learning multimedia skills was local artist and Morongo Basin Cultural Arts Council representative, Shirley James, who also presented her own multimedia presentation to the group. Past and present studies talked about their experiences with multimedia and introduced their own presentations which supplemented the luncheon with lively sights and sounds. The student presenters were Robert Barrus, Heather Erhart and Harley Baczkow.

June, 2008

Our June meeting highlighted the success of our regionally acclaimed Nursing Program, headed up by faculty member and Hi-Desert Medical Center Board of Directors President, Leslie Moody.

Joining Leslie in presenting the program was Jackie Combs, Vice-President of Patient Care Services at Hi-Desert Medical Center, and Trina Whiting and Brian Smith, both RN students at CMC.

Members and Guests were treated to a tour of the new Nursing Lab which features state-of-the-art computerized "patients." Recently the Foundation donated over $45,000 in simulated infant patients, an investment which allows nursing students to meet some of their clinical requirements right on the CMC Campus.
