Instructions for Logging On

Student Requirements
Provide their own computers (IBM Windows 98 and above);
Have access to the Internet through their own Internet Service Provider;
Be technologically proficient at creating files in a word processing program (Word 6.0 or 7.0, Works 4.0 or higher, Wordperfect 5.0 or higher);
Be comfortable downloading files and using email.
After receiving the student's email address the instructor will email the student with class instructions. Instructor email addresses are listed on the college website. Students need to supply their email address to Student Services personnel at the time of registration.
Once you have registered for an online, hybrid, or web enhanced course, you become eligible to login to the course, after the first day of the semester.
To login to the course website, follow these steps:
First, print the login instructions above for reference.
Then, click on this link to access the Blackboard Learning System: http://cmcc.blackboard.com
Click on the “Login” button on the Blackboard Learning System Welcome page. DO NOT click on "create an account", an account has been created for you.
In the “Have an Account? Login Here” box, enter your USERNAME and PASSWORD.
Username Instructions: First (2) letters of the FIRST NAME, first (2) letters of the LAST NAME, followed by the last (4) numbers in your Student ID number and cm for the initials of the college. The are NO spaces between the letters or numbers and all the letters are lower case.
Example: http://cmcc.blackboard.com
Students' name: Maria Doe
Student ID #: 123-45-6789
Enrolled at: Copper Mountain College
Username: mado6789cm
Your PASSWORD (lower case) is: student.
After you are logged in, you will see a link in the lower left-hand corner titled "Personal Information". Click on this link and you will see several options, the top two are:
Edit Personal Information – click on this to update your email address, if not, change it. Click OK.
Change Password – click on this to change your password (be sure to write it down). Click OK.
Set Textbox Editor Options - click on this and check Set Availability to "unavailable". Click Submit. (This will allow you to type in the text boxes).
You will see a course number and title. Click on that link and proceed with the instructions presented to you by your instructor for the course.
To better acquaint the student with Blackboard, a workshop is being provided to help you maneuver through your online course(s). This workshop is optional for students enrolled in online, hybrid, and web enhanced courses.
Spring workshop times will be posted shortly.
The workshop will provide the student with login and password information, Blackboard features and general course setup. To sign-up for the workshop please call 866-366-3791 extension 5911 and specify which date you would like to attend. >> Space is limited <<
Note: Students who have previously enrolled and successfully completed an online or hybrid course may participate in the Online/Hybrid Orientation Workshop to continue skill development. Students taking Online/Hybrid classes may add CS 97A-D Microcomputer Applications Lab at any time during the semester for assistance and computer access.
