Flooding

Flooding can occur suddenly due to heavy rainfall or sudden cloudburst or squall or because of damage to a water distribution system or failure of a dam.

Remember water is a powerful force and ALWAYS takes the path of least resistance.

IF FLOODING OCCURS:

• Initiate appropriate response which may include sheltering-in-place, on-site evacuation, or off-site evacuation

• Call Security or initiate 9-1-1 and describe nature and extent of flooding

• If evacuation is initiated, use prescribed routes or the safest route to the assembly area

• In all cases, listen to the direction of Security or campus officials
