Reach for the Stars - Join EOPS at CMC!

EOPS is a state-funded program serving the academically and financially disadvantaged student with counseling and other support services to ensure completion of educational goals. Student success is our number one priority. EOPS assists eligible students to reach their goals through academic, personal and transfer counseling, a book service program for books, and other services.


EOPS Eligibility Criteria

  • Be a California Resident

  • BOGG Waiver A or B

  • Can not have completed more than 70 degree applicable units from all colleges ever attended

  • Must have transcripts on file

  • GPA of a 2.0 or better

  • Enrolled in 12 units or more

  • Be Educationally Disadvantaged:

    • Placed in basic skills courses

    • Not a high school graduate

    • Has not obtained a GED

    • High School GPA below 2.5

    • Previously enrolled in remedial education

    • First generation college student (neither parent has completed college)

    • Student/Parent are non native English speakers

    • An emancipated foster youth

    • Under represented ethnic group on campus


Services for Eligible Students

  • Academic and Career Counseling

  • Creates your Educational Plan

  • Assist in major preparation for transfer

  • Career Exploration

  • Book Services (Based upon State funding)

    • Book Voucher: Books EOPS buys for you.

    • Book Exchange: For every usable book you donate EOPS will exchange it for a book you need

    • Book Loan: Books are loaned on a first come first served basis. NO writing or highlighting in these books. They are due by the last day of the semester.

  • Priority Registration

  • Supply Kit

  • Backpack on Wheels (New Students)

  • Folder full of supplies including: paper, pencil pouch, dividers, jump drive, and Scientific calculator

  • Cap and Gown Rental for Graduates

  • Parking Permits ($1 hanger not included)

  • Emergency Loans

  • Tutoring Services:Additional 2 hours above and beyond one-on-one tutoring

    • UC and CSU application Fee Waivers

    • Letters of Recommendation

  • Work Shops

EOPS is located in the Office of Student Services in Phase III.

Hours of Operation
Monday - Thursday  8:15am to 5:00pm
Fridays                       8:15am to 3:00pm

We are closed on all legal and college holidays.  (08-09 CMC Holiday Schedule)
