Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE)
The CARE Program provides support services to assist single parents who are participating in CalWORKs, and have at least one child under the age of 14. In order to be eligible for CARE, a new CARE student must be eligible for EOPS and be enrolled in 12.0 units. Exceptions can be made for students with disabilities enrolled in less than 12.0 units.
CARE Eligibility
To qualify for CARE a student must:
Be a CalWORKs participant.
Have at least one child under the age of 14.
Be a single-parent head of household as determined by the County.
Be eligible for the EOPS program.
Be enrolled in at least 12.0 units. Exceptions may be made for those with disabilities.
CARE Services
CARE students are eligible to receive all EOPS services. Additionally, CARE students may be eligible to receive the following "above and beyond" services:
Supplemental book vouchers
Meal cards to Bruce's Coyote Café
Parent/Child Activities
CARE Retreat Conference when funding is available
Transportation Grant
CARE Grant
